A special one-day workshop with visiting facilitator Jayne Demakos, a US based certified therapeutic harp practitioner with a special interest in music for the dying. This special and unique workshop is hosted by Global Harmonies, and delivered by Jayne, who will be spending a few weeks in Ireland sharing her approach to music with the dying and bereaved with various institutions and professionals around the country.

This workshop will enable you to experience GriefSong, as practiced in a bereavement group of the same name run by Jayne at Hospicare & Palliative Care Services in the United States. This special approach recognizes the power of community and song to hold and move through our grief and loss. You will experience sharing stories, ritual, group songs, reflection and celebration in recollection of loss and the preciousness of life. This work is relevant for those carrying grief both personally and collectively as well as those wishing to develop and facilitate similar group experiences. It is not necessary to be a ‘good’ singer to take part, all voices welcome.
